Bill Passed By Senate To Change O’Canada

Canadians could soon have to make a slight adjustment to their national anthem.

The Senate approved legislation yesterday, that will make O’Canada more gender neutral.

The second line of the anthem would change to “in all of us command” instead of “in all thy sons command.”

To become law, this legislation needs formal royal assent.

This change has been an ongoing discussion since it was introduced by Liberal MP Mauril Belanger in 2015. He passed away of ALS later that year.
