Bass River man charged, police find drugs, firearms

The RCMP have arrested a 38-year-old man in connection with a firearm incident near Rexton.

Police responded to a firearm-related offence on Saturday at a home on Fishing Club Road in Bass River.

Officers said they arrested the man on Sunday and he was charged with pointing a firearm.

During a search of the home, police found what they suspected to be methamphetamine, drug trafficking paraphernalia, firearms and ammunition.

Police say the man remains in custody and will return to court on Wednesday for a bail hearing.
