The Atlantic Wellness Centre has expanded its services by offering onsite Counselling at YouthQuest.
Executive Director and Therapist Lesley Smyth says they began offering the services two weeks ago, and so far, the youth have been very receptive, “We build a rapport, and we spend time with the youth and young adults by getting to know them in their own space and their tends to be more trust and more acceptance. They are much more comfortable in their own space.”
She says many of the youth are unable to get transportation to Riverview to their Centre, so having onsite Counselling, more youth are using the services provided.
The services are offered on Tuesday and Thursdays.
Smyth says last year, they began offering the same types of services at Moncton High and they are hoping to expand to other organizations in the future.
