Keep your eyes skyward if you’re in the Sussex area later this week, it’s Balloon Fiesta weekend! The event is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year and it’s amazing to see how far it has come from its beginning. The festival started as an informal gathering and now features balloonists from around the world. It has grown into one of the premiere tourism events in Atlantic Canada happening every September the weekend following Labor Day. The weekend feature twice daily balloon launches and the evening Magic Night Moon Glow (both weather permitting), an indoor craft fair, live entertainment, midway rides, concessions, classic and antique car show and shine, rodeo and so much more.
