Association Gives Immigration Priority

The Cities of New Brunswick Association met recently and the mayors and of the eight cities and their councillors discussed the next step in their Strong Cities, Strong Province campaign.

It is a list of priorities they feel will further enhance the economy of the province.

Chair Adam Lordon, Mayor of Miramichi says having a minority government could mean some of their issues get looked at.

“There was a lot of good momentum being established at the provincial/municipal table before the election so no matter who ends up being the government we are hopeful they will be willing to sit with us and work together on addressing some of these challenges,” Lorden says.

Lordon says they have added Immigration as one of their priorities because New Brunswick’s ageing population makes it a necessity to have more immigrants come to our province.
