And don’t miss our legendary mascot, BARBEGAZI . What is a Barbegazi you ask? In Alpine folklore, Barbegazi are small, elusive mountain beings said to inhabit the remote, snow‑covered regions of the French and Swiss Alps. Recognized by their long, frost‑covered beards and their unusually large feet—which serve as natural snowshoes—they are believed to navigate harsh winter terrain with ease. Barbegazi are typically associated with deep winter and are rarely seen during warmer seasons, as their existence is tied closely to snow and ice. While their appearance may seem imposing, traditional accounts portray them as protective rather than threatening, often guiding lost travelers, alerting them to potential dangers such as avalanches, and exhibiting an instinctive respect for the mountain environment.
