Enterprise Saint John believes the economy will be the number one issue during the federal election campaign leading up to the October 19th vote.
Unifor economist Jim Stanford says despite the reluctance of the Conservative Party incumbants to make the admission, we are in a recession. He says, at the very least, the economic recovery has hit the skids.
Stanford can see why the politicians are reluctant to use what he calls the “R” word because it spooks people and tends to make matters worse.
Meantime, the Canadian dollar has dropped to an 11 year low of just over 76 cents U.S.
