Update: Freezing rain, snow and wind warnings across southern N.B.

Freezing rain, wind and snowfall warnings are in place for many communities across southern New Brunswick.

It comes ahead of another winter storm that’s set to hit the Maritimes on Sunday.

Jill Maepea, a meteorologist with Environment Canada, said this storm looks quite similar to what we saw on Thursday.

Snow is expected to spread from west to east starting late afternoon or early evening on Sunday, she said.

“However, the southern parts, again, look to be changing over in the evening or overnight hours to that mix of ice pellets and freezing rain,” Maepea said in an interview.

Freezing rain warnings:

  • Sussex – Kennebecasis Valley and Kings County
  • Saint John
  • St. Stephen and Northern Charlotte County
  • Grand Manan and Coastal Charlotte County
  • Fundy National Park

Wind Warnings:

  • Moncton and Southeast New Brunswick, N.B.
  • Fundy National Park

Snowfall Warnings:

Moncton and southeast New Brunswick

Communities under wind warnings will likely see gusts topping 90 km/h while snow totals could be up to 25 centimetres.
