Anglophone East Students Fill Nine School Buses Full Of Food For FDA

It was a busy day for students in Anglophone East School District, as they worked to pack all of the food donations raised by students, as a part of their Fill the Bus campaign.

Spokesperson Aubrey Kirkpatrick says this is their 17th year for the campaign, “Over the course of the last 16 years, it’s estimated that the schools, through staff and students and community have contributed over 400, 000 pounds of food to people in need in our community.”

A total of over 25,000 pounds of food was raised this year, which is 2, 000 pounds more than last year. They filled a total of nine buses.

Kirkpatrick says their students understand how important it is to give back, “Our students and staff recognize the tremendous need for support in our community and in our school. They know, that an individuals can make a positive difference.”

All of the food is donated to the Food Depot Alimentaire.
