Anglophone East School District Focusing On Mental Health In 2016

Anglophone East School District is making the mental health of students a continued priority in 2016.

Superintendent Gregg Ingersoll says training for teachers began in 2015 and it will continue this year.

“We’re working on training for all of our Staff, it’s called Changing Minds, and we partnered with the Canadian Mental Health Association for that training, so everyone better understands how to identify and what to do when they see mental health issues in the classroom,” says Ingersoll.

He says they are also looking at new curriculum for students so they know how to cope with tough decisions in life.

A mental health summit was held in 2015 and 15 students from each of the high schools in Anglophone East attended.
