The question on the minds of many parents after last night’s recommendation from the Anglophone East District Education Council for a new school for Moncton’s north end is, will the government approve the estimated $27 million needed to build it?
Council Chairperson Tamara Nichol says the provincial government asked for a study to be done to come up with a solution, and this is the answer the Ernst and Young report found was most feasible.
She says, “When government approved us to have this study done, it was them saying, we recognize their is a problem. So I really do feel when we make a recommendation, it won’t be a hard decision for the government.”
The MLA for Moncton Northwest Ernie Steeves says the Ernst and Young report revealed some very positive projections for the city of Moncton.
The number of students is expected to grow, and that means more people are moving to Moncton, and that will mean great things for Moncton’s economy.
