All-Time High Honeybee Population In New Brunswick

The honeybee population in New Brunswick is in great shape.

Provincial Biologist Christopher Maud says the population is at an all-time high.

Maud says last fall, the province had roughly 13,000 colonies and about 320 beekeepers.

He says the province has been increasing in the number of colonies and beekeepers over the last 5 to 6 years.

They are also encouraging beekeepers to expand their operations to allow more honeybee colonies to pollinate wild blueberries.
