Agreement To Save Former MHS Finalized

The provincial government has finalized an agreement to save the former Moncton High School.

Heritage Developments Limited is buying most of the building for $1 million and is converting it into office space.

The company has restored other historic properties in Moncton including the Capitol Theatre and Heritage Court.

The province will retain ownership of the auditorium and the theatre and plans to invest $4 million to renovate and transform the theatre into a community arts centre.

An agreement in principle to save and redevelop the old Moncton High was reached last summer avoiding demolition.
