Abandoned vehicle struck by train in downtown Moncton

A car was extensively damaged after it was struck by a train on the tracks between St. George and Victoria Streets.

Moncton Fire Acting Platoon Chief Scott Brown says the abandoned vehicle was struck shortly after 11 pm Tuesday night.

Moncton Fire was on the scene for around an hour and left shortly after the car was towed away.

RCMP remained on the scene to investigate.
