A Warning To CBMF Fans, Don’t Get Scammed

Excitement is building for next week’s Cavendish Beach Music Festival, but RCMP are reminding those who are purchasing tickets or reserving campsites, “If it is too good to be true, if probably is.”

It appears scam artists are trying to take advantage of music fans who are heading to PEI next week for the Festival.

RCMP received a complaint from a youth this week who thought she was purchasing a ticket, but it turned out to be a scam.

Advertisements have been popping up online for tickets and to make reservations for campsites offering lower prices.

But RCMP say it may seem like a deal, but you need to make sure you aren’t being taken.

Sellers who insist on an upfront payment, may be a sign that it is a scam.

RCMP say fake sellers can post online ads from out of the country, and that makes them harder to trace.
