New Codiac Transpo App For Transit Riders

Codiac Transpo riders will now be able to track their bus in real time.

An app was launched this week for the transit service.

Spokesperson for the City of Moncton Austin Henderson says this data is up to minute and reflects any changes, “If the buses are pulled off the road due to snowstorms or if there is a delay due to traffic or if passengers are unaware of the modified schedules due to COVID-19, they have this information at the very same time as our dispatcher.”

Henderson says this app has been in the works since 2016, and is part of a larger project that consists of an overhaul of the technology on the buses..

“It gives them up to the minute information that allows them to do everything from track the bus, plan a trip and get news from us directly at Codiac Transpo. Now, as opposed to going to the website and having unreliable third party apps that track the buses, this gives them data on their phone, on their computers, wherever they are,” Henderson says.

The app can be downloaded for free at the app store.
