Sponsors Needed For Ninth Annual Snowflake Station

A program that helps ensure there is something under every tree for a child at Christmas is now underway.

The Snowflake Station is run by What Kids Need Moncton and this is its ninth year.

Founder Amanda Pooley says they are relying heavily on sponsors this year, “Fill out the online application form and say how many children they would like to sponsor. They will receive an email back letting them know, how old, and what their interests are. Then they can go out and buy the child a toy, a book, hat, mitts and scarf. Children under five also get a stuffie.” ”

She expects they’ll provide to over 1400 children this this year.

“We have been doing sponsorship for quite a few years now. Last year we had, 382 children sponsored of the 1152 that we had. We are aiming to be at around 50 per cent this year with sponsorship.”

The Snowflake Station is operating our of a new location this year at 200 Halifax Street in Moncton.

Donations can be dropped off during business hours.
