Long-Term Care Sector Under Microscope

A new report has been prepared by the New Brunswick Nurses Union which will be unveiled at a news conference on Thursday.

The report is called “The Forgotten Generation: An Urgent Call for Reform in New Brunswick’s Long-Term Care Sector”.

Key findings from the research will be outlined which the Nurses Union says has prompted a call for a public inquiry into long-term care in the province.

The speakers will include NBNU president Paula Doucet, seniors advocate Cecile Cassista and St. Thomas University gerontology professor Dr. Deborah van den Hoonaard.

A technical briefing will be held at 9:30 a.m. followed by the news conference at 11 a.m. which is being held virtually via Zoom from Fredericton.
