Group Rallies Against Pandemic Protocols

The windy fall weather didn’t stop about 100 people from gathering outside of Moncton City Hall yesterday afternoon.

The group rallied against the public safety measures that are in place and whether or not masks are effective against COVID-19.

Organizer of the ‘Freedom Rally’, Adam Renowden says he was surprised to see many people attend.

“I’m surprised that people came out because of the intimidation and the measures that have been put in place in the last week,” he says

Renowden says the event was meant to unite people and start asking questions.

“We’re rallying for freedom to question the narrative that’s being fed to us,” says Renowden.

One of the speakers scheduled to attend the rally, Christopher Saccoccia known as Chris Sky, was arrested by the RCMP on Friday as he was getting off a plane at the Greater Moncton Airport.

Police put Saccoccia on a return flight to Toronto.

A small group of citizens opposed to some of the actions taken due to COVID-19 has also been gathering outside Moncton City Hall every Sunday afternoon from 1-3pm raising more awareness.
