Emergency On-Farm Support Fund Now Available To NB

Farmers in New Brunswick can now apply for a federal government fund, created to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Applications are now being accepted for the Emergency On-Farm Support fund that was introduced on July 31st.

Agriculture and Agri-food Minister Marie-Claude Bibeau says protecting the health and well-being of all farm workers who are helping ensure the food security for Canadians has been a top priority since the beginning of the pandemic.

The $35 million fund is being offered to several provinces and territories including New Brunswick.

It provides up to $100,000 per recipient for infrastructure improvements to on or off farm, temporary or emergency housing, an work stations.

It can also be used for the purchase of personal protective equipment used by Canadian and temporary foreign workers.
