Blaine Higgs’ new cabinet will be sworn in next week.
According to a government spokesperson, the ceremony will take place Tuesday, September 29.
After earning a majority government in the September 14 New Brunswick election, the Progressive Conservatives face few possible political consequences for its upcoming cabinet appointments.
Among the departments that will be especially closely watched are the education, health, and finance files, especially amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Incumbent Minister of Education Dominic Cardy has received some credit for New Brunswick’s COVID-19 response, after being among the first provinces to send students home from school at the beginning of the pandemic.
