Moncton Magic Coach Not Returning

Some disappointing fans for many Moncton Magic fans.

Coach Joe Salerno will not be returning for the upcoming season.

In a tweet earlier today, Salerno says he was informed by the team that he will not be offered a contract.

I want to say thank you. Thank you to the coaches, players, staff, fans, friends & family for the last 3 seasons. Unfortunately, I have been informed by the Moncton Magic that regardless of whether the 20-21 NBL Canada season takes place, I will not be offered a contract to (1/4)

He says this is not how he would have wished or expected things to end and concluded by thanking the fans, coaches and players over the last three seasons.

Salerno helped lead the Moncton Magic to a National Basketball League of Canada Championship in the 2018/2019 season.

COVID-19 forced an early end to the season in March.
