Military Suspends Search For Missing PEI Teens Lost After Boat Capsized

The search for two teens missing off the coast of Alberton, PEI, has been suspended.

The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre responded to the area on Wednesday night, after reports of a boat that had rolled over.

Three boys had gone out in the boat, but when it turned over, one was able to make it ashore and called 911.

After an over 20 hour search covering 14 and a half square kilometres by sea and air, and due to environmental factors, the search for the two missing 17-year-olds was called off.

The case has now been turned over to the RCMP as a missing persons case.
