Greater Moncton SPCA Hold First Ever ‘Paws Off Walk’

The annual SPCA Paws Walk is still taking place this year, but will look a little different amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dan Fryer with the SPCA says they’ve changed the event’s name to the ‘Paws OFF Walk‘.

“The Paws Walk event itself is meant to be a social get together where we go and we get out into the world and have a bit of a wander around and raise some funds for the GMSPCA, but we also then have the opportunity to take our pets out with us so we can take our dogs for a walk and raise some money while we’re doing it,” he says.

This year, participants are encouraged to go on thier own walk over the weekend and post to social media using the #PawsOffWalk2020.

“So the intent here is that over the weekend of the 18th to the 20th, to go for a walk in some of the nice parks that we have around the area, but this time it’s all about your own family bubble or your own personal bubble instead of being in a large collective group,” says Fryer.

You can help support the Greater Moncton SPCA through their ‘Canada Helps‘ page.

Fryer says they’re also selling swag, including t-shirts and matching keychains and dog tags.
