In support of women’s mental health, the Beausejour Family Crisis Resource Centre will be holding the 8th annual Run For Women this month.
CEO Kristal LeBlanc says more than 1,000 participants raised over $65,000 last year.
But because of the pandemic, LeBlanc notes how this year the run will be virtual.
“Now is actually the time for people to get out and do some physical activity, get some fresh air and some vitamin D. It’s not just about needing money for the cause – which is important – but it’s also important that if people are getting outside, they might not need our services as much.”
The Run For Women event is September 27 but LeBlanc says participants can complete their own run or walk anytime between September 17 and 27.
Kits can be picked up at the Running Room and the registration fee is $40.
LeBlanc adds the virtual event will significantly reduce costs which means all registration fees and money raised goes directly to the cause.
