Feds Sign Two More COVID-19 Vaccine Agreements

The federal government has signed two more agreements for possible vaccines against COVID-19.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced it has reached agreements with Novavax and Johnson and Johnson.

“It’s possible there is a breakthrough soon that will allow us to get a vaccine more quickly,” says Trudeau.

“But we don’t know where or if that breakthrough will come. That’s why the Government of Canada has moved forward on signing agreements with a broad range of vaccine developers.”

He adds the agreements means they will have access to at least 88 million doses of the vaccine and options for millions more.

Trudeau also announced 126 million dollars for a new bio-manufacturing facility for the National Research Council in Montreal.
