Freeland Sworn In As Finance Minister

Chrystia Freeland is Canada’s new finance minister.

Freeland takes over from Bill Morneau, who resigned last night. She was sworn in this afternoon, becoming the first woman appointed to the position.

Dominic LeBlanc takes over Freeland’s former job as Intergovernmental Affairs minister.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will make comments this afternoon following the minor change-up.
