Man Arrested After Shots Fired In Petitcodiac

Police continue to investigate following an incident in which shots were fired.

Members of the Riverview RCMP responded to a report of shots being fired near a residence in Petitcodiac, early Monday afternoon.

Police say when they arrived, a man refused to speak to them and locked himself inside the home on Route 106.

The road was closed to traffic for a number of hours as police attempted to make contact with the man.

Just before 5 p.m., the man exited the home without incident, along with another man and a woman.

A 40-year-old man was arrested and released on an undertaking to appear in Moncton Provincial Court in December.
