New Brunswick Hardest Hit By AL Layoffs

A total of 61 positions have been eliminated by the Atlantic Lottery.

Forty-three of them were in New Brunswick, seven from Nova Scotia, seven from Newfoundland and the remaining four from Prince Edward Island.

President and CEO Chris Keevil says yesterday’s internal restructuring was a step forward, in an effort to be able to maximize profit return to provincial shareholders in the long term.

He says they are facing business challenges requiring the organization to urgently transform, and COVID-19 has accelerated the need.

Keevil adds, “Atlantic Lottery players have shown a greater demand for digital services – and we are listening. We look forward to benefitting from added capabilities such as data analytics and digital craft, as we continue investing in new products and solutions to meet our players’ needs.”
