CERB Extended For 2 Months

Good news for those who have been relying on the Canada Emergency Response Benefit during the COVID-19 pandemic.

If you’ve been getting the CERB and you still can’t work, you will keep getting $2,000 per month over the next few weeks.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says the government is extending the eligibility period by another eight weeks. The program was going to come to an end in July.

Trudeau says that over the next couple of weeks, they will monitor the economy and the progression of the virus to determine if changes need to be made to relief programs.

He adds the primary goal for the government is to make sure these programs are working for everyone who need it.
