NB Beaches And Marina Receive Blue Flag Recognition

Two beaches and a marina in Southeast New Brunswick has received the Blue Flag award for 2020.

It is a recognition given to those that meet strict water quality and safety criteria and are certified as clean, accessible, and eco-friendly.

Twenty-nine beaches across Canada made the list, including Aboiteau Beach in Cap-Pele.

According to the swim guide on the BlueFlag site, it passed water quality testing 60 to 95 per cent of the time.

That was based on tests done on May 26th.

Parlee Beach in Shediac was also recognized, but based on the June 7th sample, it failed to meet water quality standards.

Shediac Bay Yacht Club was the one of nine marinas chosen for 2020.
