New Apartment Buildings In North Moncton

The Twin Oaks Drive is one of Moncton’s fastest developing areas, according to the city’s director of urban planning.

Bill Budd says it includes a school, a new residential care facility as well as the new north end YMCA.

“With all this development this area has been evolving from a traditionally sprawling, low-density suburban area to an area that is becoming more mixed with density and more housing options that a growing and changing demographic are seeking,” he says.

Cordova realty is hoping to do that by building 6, 60 to 100-unit apartment buildings, including mixed-use commercial unit buildings with apartments above them.

Budd says the plan also includes 2, two-story townhouses on Holland street.

A rezoning by-law amendment will need to be done to move forward on the project but city council voted unanimously to move forward.
