City of Moncton Delays Plastic Bag Ban

Moncton City Council is temporarily lifting its ban on plastic bags in light of the pandemic.

Some stores are not allowing customers to bring their own reusable bags for health and safety precautions.

Stores may not be ready to supply paper bags in required quantities if reusable and single use plastic bags are
not allowed.

Due to these circumstances, the by-law, intended to come into effect July 1st, has been rescheduled to October 1st.
