An investigation is being launched by the Royal Canadian Air Force into the tragic crash of a Canadian Forces Snowbird in British Columbia.
Public Affairs Officer Captain Jennifer Casey, who was originally from Halifax, Nova Scotia was killed in the accident.
She joined the Canadian Armed Forces in August 2014 as a direct entry officer, and became a member of the Snowbirds team in November 2018.
Casey was also a former journalist, who worked in Halifax, NS and Belleville, Ontario.
Captain Richard MacDougall, of Dieppe, was the pilot of the aircraft. He is being treated for serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

The plane crashed shortly after takeoff from the Kamloops airport yesterday.
The Canadian Forces Snowbirds were deployed on Operation INSPIRATION, a cross-Canada tour to lift the spirits of Canadians and salute front-line workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The CT-114 Tutor fleet has been grounded as an investigation is ongoing. Operation INSPIRATION has been delayed indefinitely.
