Tour Of Hope Fundraiser Reinvented

This year marks the 10th edition of the annual Tour of Hope in support of the Georges Dumont Hospital.

Spokesperson Nadine Martin says it was important to adapt the event in order to meet public health guidelines.

This year, they’re opening it up to the community, to help reach a collective goal of 375 thousand kilometres.

“There’s a lot of families going out on their bikes and then you have some people that cycle in their homes and others who are biking to work. I went for a drive yesterday and there were a lot of people out cycling, so I think it’s something people already enjoy doing and now we’re giving them a sense of purpose for doing it,” she says.

Martin says the number is to highlight the event’s 10th edition and reflects the amount cycled during the event over the past 9 years.

Participants can submit the number of kilometres they cycled each week via email and the total will be tracked on the CHU Dumont Foundation website.

She says they are also collecting donations until their Radiothon in November and also encourages participants to donate.
