New Brunswick has reached an important milestone, reporting no new COVID-19 cases for 14 consecutive days and the full recovery of all 118 people who had the virus.
The province’s chief medical officer of health says that although the curve has been flattened and everyone has recovered, there is still a need for caution.
Dr. Jennifer Russell is urging residents to continue respecting the rules, monitor for symptoms and to call 811 if they are experiencing any.
Premier Blaine Higgs says the province was able to reach this significant milestone by following the advice from public health.
Higgs says we must continue to keep a safe distance from each other even though the government has removed several restrictions for outside activities such as golfing, fishing and gardening.
He also reminded the public that members of a household are only allowed to spend time with one other household and cannot pick and choose different households and relatives to visit.
