Public Health is reporting no new cases of COVID-19 in New Brunswick.

They also announced an additional 10 recovered cases.

The total number of confirmed cases in the province remains at 112, 70 of which have since recovered.

Of the 112 cases previously confirmed, 64 are travel-related, 36 are close contacts of confirmed cases, six are the result of community transmission and six remain under investigation.

Ten people have been hospitalized and five have since been discharged. Three of the five patients remaining in hospital are in an intensive care unit.

Chief medical officer of health, Dr. Jennifer Russell says these results are encouraging but it’s too soon to conclude that the spread is slowing in the province.

Premier Blaine Higgs thanks all essential workers for continuing to deliver critical services during the pandemic.
