The federal government has started accepting applications from those seeking assistance through Canada Emergency Response Benefit.
It’s available to anyone 15 and old who can’t work because of the pandemic but don’t qualify for regular employment insurance benefits.
The benefit will provide $500 a week for up to 16 weeks.
Prime Minister Trudeau says those applying online should receive their first cheques in about 3 to 5 days.
Please note 📣: In order to reduce the strain on the online portal 💻, we’re asking Canadians to apply for the Canada Emergency Response Benefit on specific days of the week depending on their birth month.
