The Town of Riverview has taken another step toward the construction of Bridgedale Boulevard which will link Gunningsville Boulevard with Runnymeade Road.
At a special council meeting this week, town council approved a tender from Modern Construction at $4.9 million which was the lowest of six tenders received.
Phase one of the new 1.4 kilometre road comes with a total price tag of about $8 million.
Bridgedale Boulevard is expected to ease traffic congestion when the causeway closes in 2021 and is replaced with a new bridge over the Petitcodiac River.
