Stop Asking Employees For Sick Notes: Medical Society

The association representing New Brunswick physicians is asking employers not to require sick notes from their workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The New Brunswick Medical Society says physicians are seeing unnecessary visits from patients whose employers are demanding a sick note.

In a statement, president Dr. Chris Goodyear says sick notes place an unnecessary burden on the health-care system.

Goodyear says this is a time when we need to focus on address one of the most significant public health challenges of our time.
