The RCMP’s Major Crime Unit is investigating the death of a Saint-Ignace woman as a homicide.
On Sunday morning, members of the Richibucto RCMP responded to a home where a woman who was found unresponsive.
A 39-year-old woman was transported to hospital where she later died.
An autopsy will be performed as part of the investigation to help determine the woman’s exact cause of death.
The investigation is ongoing but RCMP believe this was an isolated incident.
