Approval Rating For Premier Higgs Holds Steady

Despite recent controversy surrounding health care reform in rural New Brunswick, Premier Blaine Higgs has the third highest approval rating among Canada’s premiers according to a new survey.

Angus Reid says Higgs has a 48 percent approval rating which is unchanged from December.

Higgs recently lost his deputy premier MLA Robert Gauvin, who resigned and quit the Progressive Conservatives opting to sit as an independent.

Gauvin was upset over a plan to close overnight emergency rooms in six communities which was later cancelled.

Quebec’s Francois Legault and Saskatchewan’s Scott Moe are tied as being the most popular premier.

The least popular is Newfoundland and Labrador premier Dwight Ball who recently announced he’s leaving politics.
