Charges Laid After Attempted Copper Theft

Two men are facing charges in connection with an attempted copper theft in River Glade.

RCMP arrested 30-year-old Michael Brydges and 39-year-old Matthew Jacob on Wednesday morning.

Police were investigating a report of a theft on Riverglade Road near Highway 2.

When they arrived, they found two men trying to steal copper wire from street light fixtures.

Brydges and Jacob are scheduled to appear in court this afternoon.
