A 55-year-old Bathurst man has died after two snowmobiles collided in the small community of Sormandy, northwest of the city.
Mounties were called to a head-on collision around 4pm Thursday on a groomed snowmobile trail.
One man died at the scene while the other man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police say both men were wearing helmets.
The investigation is ongoing but RCMP say alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the collision.
