Sackville Seeks Feedback About Climate Change

The community is invited to attend a public forum on climate change in Sackville on Saturday (February 1).

A mayor’s roundtable is seeking ideas on what can be done to mitigate and adapt to climate change.

Sackville mayor John Higham says at least ten groups or individuals have registered to make presentations.

‘We’ll hopefully have a list of viable, feasible, steps that we can introduce to help play our role in climate change mitigation and adaptation,” he says.

Higham says the town is expected to face both saltwater and freshwater flooding as the climate continues to change.

Town Council declared a climate crisis last year in response to climate strike events organized by local students.

The public forum begins at 1pm at Sackville Town Hall.
