Man Arrested Following Drug Investigation On Drummond Street

A 31-year- old man has been arrested after a drug investigation on Drummond Street.

RCMP Staff Sergeant Dave MacDonnell says an illegal cannabis oil extraction operation was found in one home.

He stressed it was not a meth lab as speculated by some.

Numerous items were seized, including equipment and other substances.

The street was cordoned off for two days while the investigation was ongoing.

Two homes were also evacuated as a precaution, but residents returned home last night.

Officers from New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Fredericton, were involved in the investigation.

Moncton Fire was also on scene to assist.

The suspect was released pending a court appearance on June 25th.
