Members of of the Anglophone East District Education Council are suggesting a new location for the district office.
DEC member Norvall McConnell says a move to the former Moncton High building would have a number of advantages.
“It’s a great location, lots of parking. It’s an old school that has lots of history in the community so I think it’s something worth exploring,” he says.
He says it would also allow Superintendent Gregg Ingersoll to run the entire administrative ship in one facility.
Ian Hebblethwaite, says it also is a win for the city, who has concerns about the use of the building.
“I think it’s a win for the community, it’s a win for the DEC, it’s a win for Moncton High,” says Hebblethwaite.
The motion made by McConnell was carried unanimously during this week’s Education Council meeting.
