Dieppe Fire Battles Blaze At Harold Street Residence

A two storey building on Harold Road in Dieppe has been extensively damaged by fire.

Dieppe Fire District Chief Julien Boudreau says when they arrived on scene just before 9 this morning, they found flames shooting from the first floor apartment.

Firefighters managed to safely assist one occupant out the second floor unit.

Several cats were also pulled from the building, but Boudreau says two of them died.

The fire was brought under control quickly.

There’s no word on a cause yet.
