It was a cold fresh start to the New Year for 48 people.
They all took a Polar Dip into Palmers Pond as a part of the 27th annual event.
Dan Matthews is the Spokesperson for the Dorchester Lions Club, who helps organize the event each year. He says there were perfect weather conditions this year.
Dippers came from as far away as British Columbia and Toronto, but New Brunswick was well represented with participants from areas including Sackville, Memramcook, Dieppe, Moncton and Riverview.
Matthews says they are still tallying totals for the fundraiser. The money will be shared between several organizations including the Bob Edgett Sports Club, the Dorchester Volunteer Fire Department and community projects.
