What’s Open and Closed on New Years Day

New Years Day is a federal statutory holiday, which means most stores and businesses are closed.

That includes grocery stores, department stores, malls and big-box stores.

Some pharmacies are open on reduced hours, so you’ll want to check ahead before going out.

Banks, post offices and all government offices are closed, along with N-B Liquor and Cannabis N-B stores.

Codiac Transpo is also not running today.

Reminder: Waste collection changes for Moncton, Riverview and Dieppe.

If your regular garbage pick-up falls on Wednesday, January 1, your garbage will be picked up on Saturday, January 4.

Garbage covered in snow and/or placed on a snow bank will not be picked up.
